33 - "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not?

I suppose I do agree with this. My company went under rather spectacularly. It was a terrorist attack and they managed to kill the majority of my co-workers. My girlfriend died and I refused to believe that she was gone. It took me a while to get over all of it, but I have and I think I am stronger now.

I’ve let go, moved on. I have a new life, a new purpose and I’m happy for the most part. I’ll never have a normal life, but that’s fine. I have my friends and my lover. I know how to do my job, and I do it well. If the company hadn’t gone under, I never would be in this position and while I miss Lisa like mad at time, I like where I am right now.

I wish I could find the words to apologize to Jack for betraying him. I think he knows, but I never said anything and I wish I knew how to bring it up. I don’t want to ruin things between us and I worry if I mention it, it’ll open old wounds. He just came back into my life and don’t want to mess things up.

Its just one of the few things we don’t talk about, one of the unspoken topics that we both avoid that we tend to steer clear of. I know what I did was wrong, but I had to try. I thought I still had a chance, but I was wrong. I ended up putting the whole team in danger and for that I am sorry. I just wish I knew how to tell him that.

My name is Ianto Jones. I was born and raised in Wales. There was nothing really special about my childhood. I got good marks and did well enough on my A-levels that I was able to attend Cambridge.

After university, I was able to get a job with a company in London. It was there I met Lisa. I fell in love with her and amazingly she fell in love with me. I wish I could say we were living happily ever after, but she passed away about the same time the branch of the company we worked for went under.

I had no desire to stay in London afterwards, so I transferred to Cardiff. I have a variety of responsibilities there and they seem to be growing everyday. My job is my life, it keeps me busy, so I don’t have much time for anything else.

Pre-Scene: Ianto has debated giving Jack a key to his flat, so he has one for Torchwood use and one for personal use, but decided not to since he felt girly for even thinking that. He’s also debated getting a bigger place, since that would give Jack more room for his things. Since he doesn’t want to be rejected, he doesn’t mention it. Jack has left items over, like a toothbrush and a few other toiletries. Ianto still won’t bring the subject up, but will look at ads for a new flat and mention his lease coming due in front of Jack and mention that he was thinking of moving.

Ianto has dragged Ianto along with to check out one of his flats.
